Grupo 'Vai Ter Gorda' participates in clip against obesophobia at BA: 'We can be in different places and contexts'
"We mean that just as the lean woman is in the funk, and she is a wanted woman, the fat woman can also be in the funk. The music puts the fat woman as the protagonist. We take the women to this music video to say that we fat women can be in different places and contexts, "said Adriana.
In addition to the acts on the streets and beaches of Salvador, the militancy of the group 'Vai Ter Gorda' can also be seen in a clip "Quero Só Plus Size", recorded in the Bahia capital, and that will be released on digital platforms from 4pm onwards Wednesday (3).
The idea of the material is to value women who are historically victims of prejudice. With the strong beat of the funk, the clip travels through some tourist spots of the Bahia capital, such as the Barra Lighthouse, until arriving at night of the city, also marked by the influences of the carioca rhythm.
During the two-minute clip, the clip reveals joy, empowerment, and the sensuality of fat women, historically marginalized and victim of everyday social prejudices. Already in the ballad, the girls dominate the track, being undressed of any type of prejudice. Asked about some contemporary productions that marginalize, in addition to stereotyping women, Adriana said she was happy with the participation.
"We were very happy. The lyrics do not detract from the woman, on the contrary, "he says.
Produced by 'DG3', a Rio de Janeiro producer, the clip was recorded between March 23 and 24 of this year, after several contacts of the record company with the team.
"We met the group through the stories of G1 Bahia, we accompanied a lot of them online, we saw on the site an act they did last year in Salvador, from which we followed, and when I saw that they did several acts, I wrote the song, we got in touch and launched, "said David Gomes, one of the producers and singer of the song.
It's going to be fat.

The movement emerged in 2016, coordinated by Adriana do Santos, in order to combat gordofobia and encourage the valorization of fat women. The last act occurred in March, along with the recording of the clip.
Since then, the group's history of struggle has been based on public policy demands to take fat women off the labor market and embrace other human rights demands. According to Adriana, the result is positive.
"It has been a very good reception for people. At first they have a lot of impact on the beach, but it has never been forbidden to show the face of prejudice [to get] out of people's minds," he said.
Still according to Adriana, the action is also to call attention to the right of fat women to occupy public spaces, without suffering discrimination.
"We need to break these barriers of prejudice, discrimination and say no to gordofobia," he concluded.
